Handmade Floats, Champagne Perch Bobs, Cork Fluted Avons, Pike/Zander Bobs, Grayling Bobs, Large Swan Quill Chubbers, Porcupine Quills, Reed Wagglers

Hello Float Anglers
Its been a busy time for me recently, Ive been fishing on the Wensum which was great! I caught some chub, nice dace and a rogue rainbow trout too. The Wensum is a fantastic river & its always nice to get on the bank to test new float idea's or just have a fish & relax for a while. After a day trotting floats we spent the last half hour trying for my first barbel, unfortunately we had no luck but I feel certain this il get one this year. For me the barbel is becoming a mythical creature, we dont tend to get them around the Cambridge area so its not often I get chance to get out & try for one. I have plans for a couple of Wye trips this year so all being well il be uploading a few pics of me holding one soon.
.
You will notice I have listed pics of some new floats. The perch bob happened by accident, I turned the shape of the champagne cork (they make such good perch bobs but not much else) with a mind to keep as much of the natural cork part as I could, when I looked closer to check the shape I saw the Champagne writing & thought id let it stay. I think it looks nice.
.
The Cork Fluted avons are a big float, I had 2 big chunks of cork & thought id try something different with them. They were an absolute nightmare get finished but im pleased with the end result, im not sure how they will fish but the new owner promises to get back to me with a full report on them.
.
I had a couple of pike float bodies with some nasty imperfections in them so I decided to shape them into a smaller perch/pike/zander float. I really like the look, a great little float.
.
I have been wanting to make some small porcupine quill roach floats for a while so when I was asked to make a pair I got on with them straight away, the yellow tips always look nice specially with the kingfisher feathers. The same chap also ordered a selection of other floats including the reed wagglers in the pics.
.
The remaining pics are of some big swan quill cork bodied chubbers, I really like the look of them and the large tip & bright orange colour. The big ones carry a huge amount of shot, specially with the new grade aaa cork I have made them with.
.
Please feel free to get in touch if you would like me to make you a float or two. The usual e mail & Phone number.
